Flying at TFLC

Flying is what we are all about here at TFLC. Here is a rundown of what we do and how we do it.

All you do is do a flight as normal either online or offline, making note of  DATE, DEP TIME, ARR TIME, AIRCRAFT USED, FUEL USED FLIGHT TIME (Start up to shut down) and any WEATHER you may have come across. Also the type of flight ie, airshow etc. The items listed in RED must be reported and the Items in BLUE are recommended but not essential. When after the flight you have this information fill a flight reort form that comes with your Pilots welcome pack when you join, and the time will be added to the Pilots Rota and Aircraft pages.

Flights

Due to the nature of our V.A we don't have scheduled flights and where our Aircraft fly to is very much up to the Pilot.

All we ask is that Planes are returned to Bentwaters by whoever used them last. This way we will always know where are aircraft are.

Flight ideas

All of our aircraft need to be taken out of the hanger and given an opportunity to stretch there legs. Here are some ideas of places to fly to.

Duxford - The biggest aviation museum in Europe, need we say more?

Shuttleworth - Home of the shuttlewoth collection, mostly world war one stuff and all very interesting. smaller aircraft only

Sandown (Isle of wight) - A fantastic airfield that looks like it has been stuck in a time warp. Good for those who like there scenery, The Solent can look wonderful at the right time of day.

Shoreham - No real historical reasons to visit this airfield however it doe's get jolly busy down there at the best of times so good if you need to practice work with traffic.

Wales - No airfield in particular, just a wonderful experience to fly through the valleys, especially in a fast jet!

Ok, there just a few ideas to get you going. Like we said there are no hard and fast rules regarding where you fly to, just as long as the aircraft finishes back at Bentwaters!

Bookings

Although we don't have scheduled flights, are aircraft do get booked to appear at airshows during the summer months.

Every month (starting in May) A list will be placed here telling us which planes have been booked, where the airshow is and which pilot has volunteered to fly it. When it comes to flying airshows a little imagination is required as fs9 isn't really designed with airshows in mind. Basically one would fly to the venue either the day before or on the morning of the show, give a display in the afternoon (or evening if its an evening show!) and either fly back to Bentwaters the same day or the next. While giving a display you will need to imagine there is crowds of people watching your every move in complete admiration!

Here's what we have booked at the moment. To fly any of these Contact misfithq@btopenworld.com and we'll allocate that booking to you!
